퀸틴 블레이크(그림)
1932년 런던에서 태어났습니다. 16세 때부터 <펀치>지의 만화가로 활동하였고 첼시미술대학에서 공부해 일러스트레이터로 근무했습니다. 또 캠브리지대학에서 수학하고, 런던대학에서 교육학 석사학위를 받았으며, 지금은 로얄예술대학에서 20년 이상 학생들을 가르치고 있습니다. 300여 권의 그림책을 만들었으며 그중 《찰리와 초콜릿 공장》, 《데이지는 못 말려》, 《앵무새 열두 마리》, 《하늘을 나는 돛단배》 등의 작품을 직접 쓰거나 그렸습니다. 1980년에는 그림책 《맥노리아씨》로 케이트 그린어웨이 상을 받았고, 1996년에는 《어릿광대》가 볼로냐 국제 도서전에서 올해의 어린이책으로 선정되었으며, 2002년에는 안데르센 상을 수상했습니다.
