IBM 클라우드 아키텍처 및 솔루션 엔지니어링의 클라우드 아키텍처 부문 CTO이며 IBM의 디스팅귀시드 엔지니어다. 대규모 분산 시스템과 클라우드 기반 시스템을 구축해온 지 거의 30년이 됐다. IBM 개러지 방법론의 공동 개발자이며, IBM 클라우드 개러지 방법론 사이트와 IBM 클라우드 개러지 아키텍처 센터를 담당한다. 또한 17개의 미국 및 외국의 특허를 보유한 IBM의 마스터 인벤터이자 100편 이상의 기고를 출간한 저자이기도 하다. 웹 채팅과 구글 행아웃을 사용하고 유튜브 동영상을 제작하며, 소프트웨어 엔지니어링을 다룬 10권의 책을 저술하거나 저술하는 데 도움 줬다. 노스캐롤라이나 주립대학교에서 컴퓨터 공학 석사 학위를 받았으며, 일리노이 대학교 어바나 샴페인 캠퍼스에서 컴퓨터 공학 학사 학위를 받았다.
