해럴드 로버트 아이작(지은이)
마르크스주의 역사가로서, 소련이 1920년대를 거치며 권위주의적 스탈린주의 관료제의 통제 아래 퇴보해 가는 것을 트로츠키가 비판한 내용에 적극 공감했다. 아이작의 주요 저서인 《중국 혁명의 비극》은 1938년에 공식 출판됐다. 그는 노동자계급의 진정한 자기해방에 기초한 사회를 건설하기 위해 투쟁했던 1925~1927년 혁명의 ‘순교자’들에게 이 책을 바쳤다.
