샬럿 필(엮은이)
샬럿 필과 피터 필은 디자인 역사와 이론 및 비평 분야에서 국제적인 명성을 가진 권위자들이다. 1980년대 후반에 런던의 패셔너블한 거리인 킹스 로드에 갤러리를 열며 20세기 중반의 가구 및 응용미술 작품을 중점적으로 전시했고, 이를 통해 현대 디자인에 대하여 진기한 실무 지식을 쌓을 수 있었다. 두 사람은 1991년부터 모두 서른 권이 넘는 책을 함께 집필 및 편집했으며, 『1000 체어스(1000 Chairs)』, 『20세기 디자인(Design of the 20th Century)』, 『스칸디나비안 디자인(Scandinavian Design)』 등이 특히 호평을 받았다. 2008년에는 디자인 전문 출판사를 설립하여 『뉴 그래픽 디자인(New Graphic Design)』, 『디자인 박물관(Design Museum)』, 『모리스(Morris)』 등의 책을 펴냈다.

Peter Fiell trained with Sotheby's Institute in London and later recieved an MA in Design Studies from Central St Martin's College of Art & Design, London.
