로버트 벤투리(지은이)
1925년 미국 펜실베니아 주 필라델피아에서 태어났다. 프린스턴 대학을 나와 여러 건축 사무소에서 일을 배운 뒤 동업자들과 자신의 건축회사를 차렸으며, 미스 반 데어 로에의 유명한 선언, "적을수록 많은 것이다."에 대해 "적을수록 지루하다."고 응답하기도 했다. 강의, 건축작업, 글들을 통해 젊은 건축가들에게 많은 영향을 주었다.
