저자소개
제임스 엘킨스(지은이)
뉴욕에서 태어나고 자랐으며 학부에서 영문하고가 미술사를 전공했다. 시카고 대학에서 회화로 석사학위를 받았고, 전공을 바꿔 같은 대학에서 미술사로 석사와 박사학위를 받았다. 현재 시카고 아트 인스티튜트에서 미술사를 가르치고 있다. 지은 책으로 <과연 그것이 미술사일까>, <학교 안의 미술 학교 밖의 미술>, <그림과 눈물>, <회화란 무엇인가>, <당신의 눈을 사용하는 법> 등이 있다.
