The international exchange of information on occupational safety and health questions is becoming increasingly important, to give governments, industry, employers' and workers' organizations, scientific institutions and others concerned with this field easier access to information on occupational safety and health practices in other countries. To aid access to information on international occupational safety and health practices the International Occupational Safety and Health Information Centre (CIS), of the International Labour Office (ILO), has established a computerized directory of competent authorities, national scientific and research institutes, social security institutions and national safety councils in 93 countries. This publication prepared from the CIS database presents up-to-date information on the responsibilities and activities of more than 300 key organizations operating in the sphere of occupational safety and health in the 93 member states of the ILO.
