책소개

Semiconductors play a major role in modern microtechnology, especially in microelectronics. Since the dimensions of new microelectronic components, e.g. computer chips, now reach nanometer size, semiconductor research moves from microtechnology to nanotechnology.
An understanding of the semiconductor physics involved in this new technology is of great importance for every student in engineering, especially electrical engineering, microsystem technology and physics.
This textbook emphasizes a system-oriented view of semiconductor physics for applications in microsystem technology. While existing books only cover electronic device physics and are mainly written for physics students, this text gives a more hands-on approach to semiconductor physics and so avoids overloading engineering students with mathematical formulas not essential for their studies.

Halbleiter spielen eine wesentliche Rolle in der modernen Mikrotechnologie, besonders in der Mikroelektronik. Da die Dimensionen von neuen Mikroelektronikkomponenten, z.B. Computerchips, jetzt Nanometergroße erreicht haben, bewegt sich die Halbleiterforschung von der Mikrotechnologie hin zur Nanotechnologie.
Das Verstandnis der Halbleiterphysik, die mit dieser Technologie verbunden ist, ist fur jeden Ingenieurstudenten bes. der Elektrotechnik, Mikrosystemtechnik und Physik, von großer Bedeutung. Das Buch betont besonders eine systemorientierte Sicht der Halbleiterphysik fur Anwendungen in der Mikrosystemtechnik. Die bereits vorhandenen Bucher decken nur die Physik elektronischer Bauteile ab und sind hauptsachlich fur Physikstudenten geschrieben. Es ist das Ziel dieses Buches Halbleiterphysik praxisorientiert zu vermitteln und die Studenten der Ingenieurwissenschaften nicht mit unnotigen mathmatischen Formeln zu belasten.
