신시아 코번(지은이)
페미니스트 연구가이자 작가이다. 현재 런던에 살며 런던 시티 대학교(City University)의 사회학과 방문교수이다. 또한 국제적 네트워크인 위민인블랙(Women in Black)에서 활동한다. 코번은 경험적 사회조사에, 지난 25년 동안 노동 과정과 노동조합, 그리고 조직 변혁 문제를 젠더와 연관시켜 연구하고 글을 발표했다. 1995년 이후, 코번은 북아일랜드, 보스니아-헤르체고비나, 이스라엘/팔레스타인과 사이프러스 등에 관심을 두고, 무력 분쟁과 평화 과정에서 나타나는 젠더 문제에 관한 글을 써 왔다. 이와 관련한 대표적인 책으로는 『우리를 가르는 공간: 갈등에서 젠더와 민족 정체성을 협상하며(The Space Between Us: Negotiating Gender and National Identities in Conflict)』, 두브라브카 자르코브(Dubravka ?arkov)와 공동 편집한 『전쟁 이후: 군사, 남성성, 국제평화유지(The Postwar Moment: Militaries, Masculinities and International Peacekeeping)』, 『라인: 여성, 경계, 젠더 질서(The Line: Women, Partition and the Gender Order in Cyprus)』 등이 있다.
