저자소개

마셜 B. 로젠버그(지은이)

국제 평화단체인 비폭력대화센터(CNVC)의 설립자이자 교육책 임자. 1934년 미국 오하이오주 캔턴에서 태어나 디트로이트에서 성장했으며, 1961년 위스콘신대학교에서 임상심리학 박사 학위를 받았다. 1960년대에 미국 연방정부의 재정 지원으로 이루어진 학교 통합 프로젝트에서 중재와 의사소통 방법을 가르치면서 처음으로 비폭력대화 교육을 시작했다. 그가 1984년 설립한 CNVC는 지금까지 400여 명의 국제인증 지도자를 배출하였고, 전 세계 70개국이 넘는 지역에서 교육자, 의료 분야 종사자, 기업 관리자, 변호사, 군인, 수감자, 교정 당국, 경찰, 성직자, 정부 관리, 그리고 수많은 개인과 가족들에게 비폭력대화의 실천을 지원하는 활동을 벌이고 있다. 지은 책으로 『비폭력대화Nonviolent Communication: A Language of Life』, 『갈등의 세상에서 평화를 말하다Speak Peace in A World of Conflict』, 『비폭력대화와 영성Practical Spirituality』 등이 있다.
