Erik Brynjolfsson(지은이)
매사추세츠공과대학(MIT) 슬론경영대학원 교수이자 MIT 디지털비즈니스센터장이다. 〈MIT슬론매니지먼트리뷰〉 편집장과 전미경제연구소(NBER) 연구원으로 활동하고 있다. 하버드대학에서 경제학 석사학위를 받고 MIT에서 관리경제학 박사학위를 취득했다. 하버드대학 교수와 스탠퍼드대학 교수를 거쳐 2001년부터 MIT에서 기술과 전략을 강의하고 있다. 정보경제학과 정보 시스템 분야 세계적 석학이자 가장 많이 인용되는 학자 중 한 명이다. 기술의 진보가 기업의 생산성과 경제에 미치는 영향에 대해 주로 연구해왔다. 1987년 세계 최초로 전자시장 이론을 제기했으며, 1999년에는 컴퓨터 프로그램, VOD방송, 음악파일 등 인터넷으로 제공되는 상품은 서로 다른 분야 상품을 한데 묶어서 파는 번들링 전략이 따로 파는 것보다 더 많은 수익을 가져다준다는 내용의 논문으로 마케팅 분야 최고 논문상인 ‘존 D.C. 리틀상’을 받았다. 다섯 개의 특허를 취득하고 두 개의 소프트웨어를 직접 개발하며 십여 차례 우수논문상을 수상한 그는, 현재 세계 유수의 기술집약적 기업에서 자문 역할을 맡고 있다. 2012년 세계 공통의 현상인 실업과 일자리 부족 문제의 원인으로 기계의 급속한 발전을 지목한 저서 《기계와의 경쟁Race Against the Machine》을 앤드루 맥아피 교수와 함께 펴내 세계 지성계의 주목을 받았다. 2009년에는 정보기술이 어떻게 경제를 재편하는지를 분석한 《혁신을 위한 연결Wired for Innovation》이라는 공저서로 호평을 얻었다.
Andrew McAfee(지은이)
매사추세츠공과대학(MIT) 슬론경영대학원 부교수이자 MIT 디지털비즈니스센터 수석연구원이다. MIT에서 기계공학 석사학위를 받고 하버드대학에서 기술과 운영관리학 박사학위를 취득했다. 하버드경영대학원 부교수와 하버드 로스쿨 버크먼인터넷?사회연구소 선임연구원을 거쳐, 2009년부터 MIT에서 연구에 매진하고 있다. 정보경제학 분야에서 활발하게 활동해온 전문가다. 정보기술이 경제와 사회를 어떻게 변화시키는지에 관해 주로 연구해왔다. 하버드경영대학원 재직 시절, B2B 전자상거래를 음악 파일 공유 사이트인 냅스터화(Napsterizaion)하는 개념을 제시해 화제를 모았으며, 웹 2.0 개념과 플랫폼을 기업의 정보통신에 적용한 ‘엔터프라이즈 2.0’이라는 용어를 처음 만들었다. 저서로 에릭 브린욜프슨 교수와 공동으로 펴낸 《기계와의 경쟁》과 《엔터프라이즈 2.0Enterprise 2.0》이 있다. 〈하버드비즈니스리뷰〉〈이코노미스트〉〈월스트리트저널〉〈뉴욕타임스〉 등 여러 매체에서 칼럼니스트로 활동하고 있다.
