시셀라 복(엮은이)
노벨 경제학상 수상자인 아버지 군나르 뮈르달과 노벨 평화상 수상자인 어머니 알바 뮈르달 사이에서 태어났다. 평생 도덕 철학을 탐구했고, 어머니의 전통을 이어 분쟁을 조정하고 평화를 위한 전략을 마련한 공헌을 인정받아 1991년 미국 양심의 용기상을 받았다. 미국 정치 사회과학 학회 회원이고 퓰리처상 수상 위원회 위원을 맡기도 했다. 지금은 하버드 대학 인구와 개발 연구 센터의 방문 연구원으로 있다. 20여 년 동안 하버드 대학 총장을 지낸 미국에서 가장 존경받는 지식인 중 한 사람인 법학자 데릭 복이 남편이다. 《거짓말하기》(1978), 《비밀》(1984), 《평화를 위한 전략》(1989), 《공통 가치》(1995), 《폭력》(1999) 등 아주 독창적인 책들을 썼다.
