About the Author
Dr Sarah Simblet is a fine artist, writer, broadcaster and anatomist, whose work explores the relationship between science, history and art. The author of Drawing for the Artist and Botany for the Artist, and co-author of The New Sylva, Sarah is dedicated to sharing and encouraging visual intelligence in others through her drawings, teaching and broadcasting worldwide. She is Director of Studies for Fine Art at Christ Church, Oxford, and Tutor in Anatomy at the Ruskin School of Art. 옥스퍼드, 첼튼엄, 하이델베르크, 마드리드에서 연구와 창작 활동을 했으며, 브리스틀 대학교에서 박사학위를 받았다. 그녀가 제작한 드로잉 작품은 런던 왕립아카데미와 옥스퍼드에 있는 애시몰린 미술관을 비롯한 공공기관과 개인 컬렉션에 소장되어 있다.또한 제네바의 미술사박물관에서 개최된 '죽음과 생명, 미술과 해부학' 전람회(1998), 런던의 웰컴 트러스트에서 개최된 '새로운 해부학자들'(1999), 그리고 독일 비페르스도르프에서 열린 '아름다운 정원'(1999)에 출품되었다. 2005년 현재 옥스퍼드 대학의 러스킨 드로잉 미술학교, 런던 왕립미술대학에서 강의하며 '워치메이커'와 디스커버리 채널의 '아트-사이언스' 다큐멘터리의 자문으로 활동하고 있다.
