John W. Creswell(지은이)
가정의학과 교수이며 미시간 대학 혼합연구 프로그램의 수석 연구자다. 혼합연구방법, 질적 연구, 연구설계와 관련된 상당수의 아티클과 약 30권의 책을 출판하였다. 네브래스카 링컨 대학에 근무할 당시, 클리프톤 석좌교수직을 맡았고 SAGE 출판사의 Journal of Mixed Methods Research를 창간했으며, 미시간 대학 가정의학과 겸임교수, 미시간 앤아버의 재향군인 건강센터의 자문을 맡았다. 2008년 남아프리카와, 2012년 태국에서 풀브라이트 수석연구자로 활동했다. 2011년에는 건강과학 분야에서의 혼합연구 실행을 위한 국립 건강 재단의 위원회를 공동으로 이끌었다. 또한 하버드 공공건강 대학원의 방문 교수를 역임했고, 남아프리카 프레토리아 대학에서 명예박사를 수여받았다. 2014년에는 혼합방법 국제 연구위원회의 초대 회장을 역임했다. 2015년에는 미시간 혼합방법 프로그램을 공동으로 이끌기 위해 미시간 대학의 가정의학 위원으로 합류하였다. 2017년에는 미국심리학회에서 주도하는 질적, 그리고 혼합연구 기준 논의에 공동 저자로 참여하였다. 2018년에는 그의 책 Qualitative Inquiry and Research Design이 오랜 기간 기여해온 것을 인정받아 맥거피 장수 상(McGuffey longevity Award)을 수상하였다.
