존 S. 메이저(지은이)
하버드 대학에서 동양 언어와 역사를 연구하여 박사학위를 받았고 다트머스 대학의 동아시아 역사 담당 조교수를 역임했으며, 아시아 협회 산하 중국 카운실의 소장을 지냈다. 『한대 초기 사상 속의 천지 개념』을 비롯해 아시아의 역사와 문화에 관한 여러 권의 저서를 집필했으며, 2010년 현재는 ‘이 달의 책’ 수석 편집자로 일하고 있다.
