로랑 베그(지은이)
프랑스 그르노블 대학 사회심리학 교수이자 인격, 인지, 사회 변화에 관한 대학연합 심리학연구소를 이끌고 있다. 스탠퍼드 대학 방문교수, 객원연구원을 역임했으며 학문적 업적이 뛰어난 교수들을 지원하는 프랑스 교수협회(IUF) 명예회원이기도 하다. 국제학술지에 50편 이상의 논문을 발표했고 『프시콜로지』, 『프시코』 등의 대중적인 심리학 전문지의 자문을 맡고 있다. 그는 황당하고 기발한 연구에 수여하는 이그 노벨상 심리학 분야 수상(2013년)으로 화제가 되었다. 로랑 베그는 '술을 마신 사람은 자신을 매력적으로 생각한다'는 가설을 입증한 실험연구로 이 상을 받았다. 이는 술을 마시면 상대에 대한 호감도가 높아진다는 기존의 생각(비어 고글Beer Goggles 현상)을 뒤집어본 것이다.
