탐 비첨(지은이)
미국 Georgetown University 철학과 교수로 재직 중이며, 케네디윤리연구소(Kennedy Institute of ethics)에도 관여하고 있다. 1975년 의료생명과학 및 행동 연구의 인간 연구대상자 보호를 위한 국가위원회(Nathional Commission of the Protection of Human Subjects of Biomedical and Behavioral Research)에 참여하여 1978년 벨몬트 보고서의 주요 부분을 집필하였다. 인간 대상 연구의 윤리뷴만 아니라 생명의료윤리에서의 보편적인 원친과 권리, 생명윤리학 방법론 등의 메타적 이론에 관심을 가지고 있으며 기업윤리에도 관심을 지니고 있다. Principles of Biomedical Ethics 외에도 A History and Theory of Informed Consent(Oxford, 1986), The Human use of Animals(Oxford, 2008), Philosophical Ethics(Mc-Graw-Hill, 2001), Ethical Theory and Business(Pearson, 2013) 등의 저서가 있으며, 자신의 논문을 모아 출간한 Standing on Principles: Colected Works(Oxford, 2010)이 있다.
