책소개
Based on interviews with 100 top managers of Japanese firms, this book studies the organization and decision making of Japanese corporations, as well as their long term planning for the future. The author examines aspects of corporations which include the nature of board of director systems, the system of life-long employment instituted in the 1950s, the origins of the bubble economy, the evolution of cartelism, and the globalization of the economy. She argues that in order to stay competitive Japanese corporations will need to shed surplus labor, redefine the role of older workers, reduce their volume of exports, and finally, completely overhaul the education system to allow for greater creativity in the generations to come. Annotation c. by Book News, Inc., Portland, Or.
