로런스 고윙(지은이)
대영제국 커맨더 훈장CBE을 수여받은 저명한 화가이자 미술사가이다. 런던 테이트갤러리의 영국 소장품 관리 책임자 겸 부관장(1965-1967), 리즈대학교 미대 교수(1967-1975)를 역임하고, 1975년부터 1985년 퇴임 때까지 런던의 유니버시티대학의 미대에서 정교수로 재직했다. 베르메르, 르누아르, 세잔, 컨스터블, 고야, 터너, 루치안 프로이트에 대한 중요한 저서들을 출간했다.
