'세계 리더십 프로그램'이란 것을 개발하여 일본, 유럽, 북아메리카의 여러 대기업에 그 프로그램을 토대로 컨설팅했고, 'Human Resource Management Journal'을 창간하여 편집장을 맡았으며, 1985년 크로톤빌 연수원 매니저가 된 후 GE의 사내 교육원일 뿐이었던 크로톤빌 연수원을 차세대 리더 양성 조직으로 발전시켰다. 또한 9년 동안 컬럼비아 대학교 경영학부 교수로 근무하기도 했으며 현재 미시건 대학교에서 경영학부 인적 자원 관리 부문 교수로 있다. 지은 책으로 <Control Your Destiny>, <Someone Else Will> 등이 있다.
