Irwin L. Goldstein(지은이)
메릴랜드대학교 사회과학대학의 학장이며 심리학과 교수이다. 그의 관심 연구분야는 조직에 입사하는 사람들의 문제를 중심으로 하고 있다. 특히 어떻게 조직을 배우고, 어떻게 선택되며, 어떻게 훈련받는지에 대해 지대한 관심을 가지고 있다. 그는 이미 이 책의 1판, 2판, 3판까지를 혼자서 집필해 왔다. 또 <미국 산업 및 조직심리 핸드북>에 산업훈련에 대한 장을 집필하였고, 1989년에는 <훈련 및 개발>에 대한 시리즈를 편집하였다. 그는 1995년에 미국 훈련 및 개발학회(ASTD)로부터 Swanson상을 받았으며, 1992년에는 미국 산업 및 조직심리학회로부터 '탁월한 서비스' 상을 받았다. 또한 이 학회의 회장직을 역임하였다. 학회활동으로는 미국 심리학회, 인적요소(Human Factors)학회의 원로회원이다.
