데이비드 P. 노튼(지은이)
성과측정과 조직혁신을 전문으로 하는 컨설팅 회사 르네상스 솔루션Renaissance Solution 사의 대표이다. 놀런, 노튼 앤 컴퍼니Nolan, Norton & Company 사의 공동설립자이기도 하다. 또한 웨세스터 폴리테크닉 인스티튜트Worcestor Polytechnic Institude의 이사이며, ACME(The Association of Consulting Management Engineers)의 이사를 역임하고 있다. 그는 미 국방부의 정보관리에 대한 지원으로 공로상을 수상하기도 했다.
로버트 S. 캐플란(지은이)
하버드경영대학원의 회계와 성과관리 부문 교수이면서, BSC전문기업인 팰러디엄 그룹Palladium Group/BSC Collaborative에서 실행부문 회장을 맡고 있다. MIT에서 전기공학으로 학사와 석사학위를 받고, 코넬대학교에서 계량의사결정론Operation Research으로 박사학위를 받았다. 카네기멜론 경영대학원에서 16년간 교수와 학장(1977~1983)을 역임하고, 1984년부터 하버드경영대학원에서 교수로 재직 중이다. 기업성과관리CPM, Corporate Performance Management 분야의 세계최고 권위자로, 혁신적 원가 개념인 '활동기준원가Activity-Based Costing'와 탁월한 성과관리도구인 'BSCBalanced Scorecard' 개념을 공동 개발했다. <하버드비즈니스리뷰>에 18편의 논문을 게재하고, 기타 학술지에 120여 편의 논문을 발표했으며 데이비드 노튼과 공동집필한 5권을 포함, 총 14권의 책을 집필했다. <Strategy Maps> <Alignment 정렬> <전사적 전략경영을 위한 SFO> <가치실현을 위한 통합경영지표 BSC> 등의 저서가 있다.
